A place far north, above the Arctic Circle – right at the end of the road….
Where we can hike and sail and fish in the summer, and ski and snow-shoe in the winter. A place to escape the world, read books by the fire and breathe fresh air. With views that we’ll never get tired of. A place to share adventures with friends. Watch birds, whales and all sorts of wildlife. Close to a network of mountain huts for longer expeditions – but good for short walks too. Somewhere ideally positioned for Northern Lights in the winter. With its own stretch of beach. On a regular bus route so we don’t need a car – and only 1 hour from the airport! – Welcome to Paradise!
Simple and traditional cabin or ‘hytte’. Ideal for couples or small groups of friends. Sleeps 2-4 (5 if you are very friendly) in two small bedrooms and a sofa-bed in the living room.
And now there is another one… the same in spirit but yellow and with a few little luxuries:
‘Huset ved Elva’ the house by the river. Perfect cottage in the the tiny fishing village of Oldervik, with four small bedrooms (up to 6 people), land stretching down to the river and of course fabulous views over the sea and mountains. Washing machine, microwave, dishwasher and wi-fi internet too.
Both houses are:
- On the water-front with views of the spectacular Lyngen Alps
- A stone’s throw from the sea
- Backing straight onto the mountains for hiking and skiing
- Ideal for watching the Northern Lights
- Wonderfully peaceful and quiet
- Great for spotting wildlife. Eagles, dolphins and otters can be seen from the windows
- Just 1 hour from Tromso.
Summer: Playing under the Midnight Sun. Perfect for walking, cycling, bird watching, fishing, rock-pooling, swimming, BBQs on the beach and simply messing about in boats.
Winter: Superb playground for cross-country and nordic ski touring, randonnee ski mountaineering, snow-shoeing, watching the Northern Lights and curling up in front of the fire with a good book.
This is our idea of heaven and we hope you’ll agree? Come and find out for yourself!
You are very welcome,
